Lakeland Ascents | Blog – Scrambling on Raven Crag, Yewdale, Coniston

Today I met up with Dave in Staveley who was keen for half a day of scrambling. We left the morning drizzle behind and headed over towards Yewdale near Coniston where we were pleased to find more amazing Lake District sunshine and pretty clear blue skies.

I’d picked the excellent Grade 2 3* scramble up Raven Crag for Dave’s morning out and it did the job nicely, with entertaining but easy scrambling on lovely rock and views across Coniston and Tilberthwaite to reward us as we gradually scrambled higher and higher.

After topping out it was time for a leisurely stroll back down to the car for a cup of tea and a relax in the sun, before heading back to Staveley.

A great morning our in a beautiful part of the Lakes. Cheers Dave.
