ML navigation training on Brunt Knott, Staveley

Today I was out with Will who is preparing for his Mountain Leader (ML) Assessment which he hopes to take this year. Will was keen to practice some micro-nav so we headed into a lesser visited part of the Lakes up above Staveley. There aren’t many paths high on Brunt Knott and Staveley Head Fell, which makes great ground for nav practice. Hunt the reentrant was the name of the day and Will did really well on this wild featureless ground where navigation off contours is your only option. I found it pretty hard myself, I’m more than happy to admit!!

Cheers Will for a great day in some wild conditions!
