Gorge scrambling (ghyll scrambling): lots of sessions! A catch up…

We’re guilty of not having updated this blog for a quite a while, so here’s a whistle-stop tour of what we’ve been up to over the last few week!

On Tuesday 20th August, we were working with our friends over at Mountain Circles who had a big multi-activity day on which basically involved loads of young people gorge scrambling, abseiling and rock climbing. We were in the gorge all day and had a great time doing all the jumps and getting some airtime off the big slide. We were joined in the morning by Steve Ashworth of Movieit who filmed the session – a sample shot from Steve is below, but click here for the final video.

A couple of days later and we were back in Church Beck again for some more gorge scrambling, this time with the Bradley family who were over in the Lakes from Leeds. The Bradleys were super up for all the jumps and the big slide! A great time was had by all. Here they are after the session >>

Jumping around in time a bit, but here is another cool pic from one of the many gorge scrambling sessions that we’ve run over the last couple of weeks!

And, for something a little bit different – check out this video of our session in their with Andy and Finn from Warrington! Click this link to see them taking on the challenge of the tricky hand traverse >> https://vimeo.com/73714293

Also, for something a little different, a few days later we were back in the gorge again, but this time with a blind lady in the group. We did wonder how suitable Church Beck would be for someone who couldn’t see, but we’re always up for a challenge and so was this particular lady who made her way up Church Beck on all-fours with a smile on her face. Well done to you!
