Multi-activity day: abseiling & gorge scrambling for Richard’s Stag

While I was out leading a guided walk for a great couple from San Francisco, instructors Joe and Francis were just across the valley with a Stag Doo group who had booked with us for a multi-activity day of abseiling and gorge scrambling.

Joe and Francis met the 14 strong group at Hodge Close, where they braved the 40m drop into this amazing old slate quarry and abseiled in style down the vertical wall.

After lunch, it was over to Church Beck for some gorge scrambling meets canyoning. Usually we start at the bottom of Church Beck, work our way up, then if the group is up for it, head into the more extreme top sections for some exhilarating jumps and abseils. This time though, the lads were pretty up for a full on experience, so Joe and Francis took them straight to the top of Church Beck and abseiled and jumped the full canyoning descent, right the way down to the start. A great effort by the group – nice one.

Good luck to Richard on his wedding day and thanks guys for the day. Cheers also to Joe and Francis for running the sessions.
