  • Anchor selection and rigging: learn how to rig your own bottom ropes
  • Abseiling
  • Interpreting guidebooks, choosing your line and reading the route. Psychological techniques to get you up the route as efficiently as possible.

Ages and abilities: We can cater for all ages and abilities, from the new climber to those wanting to push their lead grade.

Group sizes and ratios: We put your safety first so the maximum instructor:client ratio that we will work to is 1:4 – if your party is bigger than 4 people then there will be more than one instructor.

Venue: We will choose a venue that suits your aspirations and minimises the travelling that you need to do. We are spoilt for choice in the Lakes, Snowdonia and in Scotland too.

Kit: We will share a kit list with you when you book, but all you really need are warm and waterproof ‘outdoor’ clothes and footwear. You can borrow harnesses, helmets and rock gear from us, but we’d advise that you use your own kit if you have it so that you can get used to using it. Rock shoes are advised to get the most out of your course. We will provide all ropes.

Times: Generally we would look to meet at around 09.30 and be finished by around 16.30. However, we believe in bespoke, tailored days so we will always do our best to work around your other commitments and time constraints.
