Multi-pitch climbing course

Anchors nicely equalised on a a multi-pitch belay
Are you a single-pitch climber ready for the adventure of long multi-pitch mountain routes? Although amazing fun, multi-pitch climbing presents new challenges to the single-pitch rock climber, such as complex route finding, tricky stance management, and potentially difficult descents.
Our multi-pitch climbing course will teach you the skills necessary to safely and efficiently tackle big routes in the high mountains.
We strongly believe in tailored and bespoke courses that focus 100% on your ambitions, rapidly develop your skills, and accelerate your climbing career, so the course content will be unique to you. However, the list below will give you an idea of the sort of skills we’d be covering.
Along with plenty of climbing, our courses cover the following areas (and more!):
- Gear selection for multi-pitch routes
- Guidebook interpretation and route finding in complex terrain
- Building simple and complex multi-pitch belays with in-reach and out-of-reach anchors
- Stance management to avoid rope tangles and twists
- Hanging belay management
- Strategic route planning – knowing when to ‘run it out’ or keep pitches short
- Increasing efficiency and speed on your climb
- Communication with your partner on multi-pitch climbs
- Safe descent using multi-pitch abseiling skills
- Basic rescue techniques.
