Scrambling with Lakeland Ascents
Let us help you to bridge the gap between mountain walking and climbing, by getting your hands on the rock and completing one of the UK’s classic graded scrambles. We have a vast knowledge of amazing scrambling journeys through the mountains of the Lake District and Snowdonia at all grades, from the accessible Grade 1 to the technical and challenging Grade 3 upwards.
At Lakeland Ascents, we pride ourselves in ensuring that your guided scrambling day is tailored to your own personal ambitions, so if you’ve got an idea of a scramble that you’ve always wanted to do, then we will be happy to be your guide. If not, there are hundreds of great scrambling routes in the UK, so we are certain that we can find one that works for you. Here are some suggestions and ‘must-do’ guided scrambling days:

Ages and abilities: We can cater for all ages and abilities, regardless of whether you are new to climbing and want to experience your first multi-pitch line, or whether you’re an experienced climber wanting the security of a guide on that harder route you’ve had your eye on.
Group sizes and ratios: We put your safety first so the maximum instructor:client ratio that we will work to is 1:2 – if your party is bigger than 2 people then there will be more than one instructor.
Venue: We will choose a venue that suits your aspirations and minimises the travelling that you need to do. We are spoilt for choice in the Lakes, Snowdonia and in Scotland too.
Kit: We will share a kit list with you when you book, but all you really need are warm and waterproof ‘outdoor’ clothes and footwear. If you have your own climbing harness, helmet and shoes then great, but if not then don’t worry as you can borrow the items from us for free.
Times: Generally we would look to meet at around 09.30 and be down off the hill for 17.00. However, we believe in bespoke, tailored days so we will always do our best to work around your other commitments and time constraints.
